Yeah, really.
Apr. 19th, 2012 12:58 amSo, today I started doing something that I've been thinking about doing for a long time now. A reaally long time. For about three years now? Or more like two perhaps. Yeah, not from when I got into Arashi, but from when I had started to learn more japanese.
What? Oho. Ho. Ho Ho. Somehow I seem to be trying to hold up a dignified aura about it (which both amuses me and irks me at the same time). Well, I've started subbing. Only for private purposes of course, so it's regrettably only in swedish (though I would definitely not have a problem with english).
The reason is that I used to watch Arashi stuff with my brothers, but now - when I have no problems with finding raws and understanding what they're saying - I'm getting bored of watching it alone. Plus, my brothers thinks it's kind of boring too. Not being able to understand what they're saying or keep up with me and all that, when I've already seen a lot of the stuff when the subs are out.
Oh wait, that was before I got bored of it, now I try to wait. Paitently. Paitently with a slight urge of wanting to spoil it all by watching the shows anyway.
But I've always had a rule (that I follow more or less) to wait for subtitles for dramas. Since they're a bit more serious than regular variety programs, if you get what I mean. Miss a line in a regular program - rewind without ruining it, miss a line in a drama - disaster. Dramas and movies usually contain more complicated language too, like all that old speech in history dramas, or Ohno's technobabble in Kagi no kakatta Heya.
Ah, but sometimes you just want to watch an old drama like Ichiban Chikai Otoko II, Netsuretsu Teki Chuuka Hanten, etc., which nobody has made subtitles for. In those case I obviously have to make exceptions.
Anyway... No, that's all. I think I'm going to sleep now. Have to get up in the morning to continue with the subtitles. (((( ~ .~) ♪
